What was challenging:
Neither of us had experience in coding with HTML and CSS. We were challenged to come up with feasible interactions to tell a story. I had a fulfilling time figuring out the visualization and coding for 50 states crime rates comparison. I still remember that I was wide awake at 5 am due to the excitement and the difficulty that the project had brought to me.
I think beyond the class
With the experience of coding an interactive website, I thought about how to visualize the same data on tablets and phones in a way that the interactions can be as interesting as desktop.
For example: there is no way that a map with individual radar charts on the side can be easy to read on a phone. Instead, I can group the states in five based on their crime rates and the user can filter through.
